Process of Obtaining Digital Signature Certificate:

1. Select Certifying Authority: Choose a licensed Certifying Authority (CA) like eMudhra, Sify, or others, authorized by the Controller of Certifying Authorities (CCA).
2. Submit Documents: Provide necessary documents for identity proof (PAN card, Aadhar, passport, etc.) to the CA.
3. Application Submission: Fill out the DSC application form and submit it online or offline, based on the CA’s process.
4. Verification: The CA will verify the documents and identity, either through in-person verification or digital channels.
5. Issuance of DSC: Once verified, the CA issues the DSC, which can be used for signing digital documents and conducting secure transactions.

Documents Required for Digital Signature Certificate – Basic:

• Identity Proof: Government-issued documents like PAN, Aadhaar, passport, or voter ID.
• Address Proof: Utility bills, bank statements, or any government-issued proof showing your address.
• Photograph: Recent passport-sized photographs.
• Company Documents (for business DSC): Incorporation certificate, Memorandum of Association (MOA), Articles of Association (AOA), etc.

Types of Digital Signature Certificates:

• Class 1 DSC: For personal use, mainly for securing email communication.
• Class 2 DSC: For individuals and businesses to file returns, sign documents, and access government portals.
• Class 3 DSC: For higher security, used in online tenders, e-commerce, and high-value transactions.
